Lodhrasava is a classical Ayurvedic asava formulated primarily from the bark of Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa), along with other supportive herbs. Traditionally used to tone the uterus, it helps manage heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), leukorrhea, and post-partum bleeding by virtue of its astringent (stambhana) action and rich tannin content.
Beyond its hemostatic role, Lodhrasava also supports digestion and metabolic balance. The fermentation process enhances the bioavailability of its active compounds, while its mildly warming virya helps ignite digestive fire (agni) and gently clear ama (toxins).
